A Quick-Serve Restaurant (QSR) Sous Chef job description (JD) involves supporting the Head Chef by managing kitchen operations, overseeing staff, ensuring food quality and safety standards are met, controlling inventory, and preparing food to ensure efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction in a high-volume environment. Key duties include staff supervision and training, inventory and order management, maintaining hygiene and food safety, and expediting orders to ensure timely service. Key Responsibilities
- **Kitchen Operations**:Organize and manage ingredient preparation, cooking processes, and oversee multiple kitchen stations to maintain quality and speed during busy service times.
- **Staff Management**:Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff, including setting work schedules, evaluating performance, and ensuring adherence to procedures.
- **Food Quality & Safety**:Ensure consistent food quality, proper food temperatures, and adherence to all safety, sanitation, and food hygiene regulations.
- **Inventory Management**:Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and manage stock to ensure ingredients are fresh and sufficient for consistent workflow.
- **Menu & Dish Preparation**:Prepare meals according to menu specifications and assist with developing new dishes and specials.
- **Equipment & Maintenance**:Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, properly maintained, and in excellent working order.
- **Customer Service**:Coordinate with the front-of-house to expedite orders and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a culinary leadership role and at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate kitchen staff.
- Proficiency in using various kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, and steamers.
- A thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation practices, and inventory control.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
