- Your Responsibilities- Working within the BT Global Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) process to lead/drive the production and acceptance of operational documentation necessary to facilitate efficient and compliant Global CPE shipments for all locations/regions globally and hold for records accordingly.- Work with BT’s customs and international trade teams to proactively own and resolve any systematic or individual case issues preventing efficient equipment shipment, import & delivery.
- Proactively working with BT Account/contract teams and customers directly to manage the appropriate completion/signature/stamping of BT or supplier required Consignee and End User undertakings to ensure compliant and timely shipments.
- Proactively working with BT entity leads up to and including Board/Company Secretary representatives directly to manage the appropriate completion/signature/ stamping of:

- BT or supplier required Consignee and End User undertakings.
- commercial invoices, packing lists and various other shipping documents
- to ensure compliant and timely shipments.- Proactively work across involved parties including BT contract and operational teams, external Shipping Agents, Customs Handlers, and Importers of record to ensure end to end procedural alignment, including document and information flow, as necessary.
- Proactively working with suppliers/manufacturers to obtain and compile product technical and approval specifications as variously requested by import agencies where this is required but not readily available.
- Establish and maintain process for recording and retaining original copies of all customer provided statements and documentation used in support of BT shipments.
- Proactively manage “in flight” requests for additional shipping related payments e.g.
- Increased costs due to customs revaluations.
- Demurrage Payments due to delays in clearing goods
- VAT/Duty payments where these are not systematically covered within the shipping processes.
- Including directly using standard processes to progress any individually case purchase orders necessary for making such payments.- Proactively work with Suppliers, Government agencies and BT internal teams to efficiently fulfil any requirements for shipment inspections, tests, provision of equipment photographs or other legitimate activity requested by import officials.
- Identify systemic improvements to reduce costs and import efficiency in these areas.
- Skills Required- Excellent interpersonal skills and gravitas combined with the ability to work in a pressured, dynamic environment
- Self-motivated with the ability and drive to prosper in a challenging service environment requiring specific understanding of the commercial requirements for Global shipping and import/export.
- Must be well organised, methodical, with excellent attention to detail, taking ownership and efficiently delivering successful outcome.
- Post holder is expected to develop the contacts that enable him/her to do their job effectively - this will include relationships with the market units, the capability leads, key suppliers and where necessary external customers.
- Has the ability to drive, motivate and mobilise mixed ability teams and individuals both within BT and within our supplier base.
- Has the ability to work independently, proactively identifying weaknesses in operational processes and develop strategies and recommendations for the necessary actions to maximise efficiencies.
