**About Pincode Project**:
The Pin Code Project is a unique action research project implemented in the 600018 Pin Code of Chennai. The idea is to create a hyperlocal model of volunteering that will reach out to the entire local population within a specific pin code or designated geographical area, with opportunities to volunteer in social and civic activities over a year. The goal is to provide options across multiple causes, types of volunteering work, timings and days of the week combinations in a variety of volunteering activities throughout the year, directly and through community based organisations, and then see how many people actually volunteer. Bhumi is seeking to hire a dynamic Project Lead to lead the planning as well as the implementation of the Pin code project. S/he will be instrumental in building the pilot initiative over the next 1-1.5 years, including all aspects of project planning, management, and execution required to make this happen. The project promises to be a revolutionary one for the volunteering ecosystem in India with massive scope for scaling and replicability across the country

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Meeting 8-10 organizations per day to help in identifying and creating a large number of volunteering opportunities (approx 200,000-300,000 opportunities in the pin code) - across cause area, time availability, skills needed, and accessibility - by engaging local organizations, civic groups, and public institutions (schools, hospitals, police, fire station, etc).
- Leading the promotion of these volunteering opportunities by using a variety of media - website, social media, but more importantly, flyers, citizen networks, organizing local meetups, and door-to-door campaigns - and aiming for a high volunteer conversion, completion, and retention (ongoing volunteering) rates.
- Assist in building volunteer pipes and pipelines across the pin code to source volunteers - school and college students, working professionals, homemakers, senior citizens, etc.
- Organizing and facilitating Focussed Group Discussions for various volunteer groups
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of 100+ Volunteer Leaders to manage their respective programs.
- Assist in designing and implementing volunteer orientation sessions.
- Document processes, learning, and blueprint for the project to be shared as an open source note for anyone seeking to replicate it in any other location.
- Report to the Project Lead for daily, weekly and monthly tracking of the projects
- Lead the coordination of the Volunteer Leaders Team for all coordination and implementation of projects.
- Provide inputs in building an online portal for volunteers to sign up for these volunteering opportunities as well as tracking and management.

**Preferred Education Qualification / Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of prior experience preferably in Project management
- Prior volunteering experience is mandatory.
- Any graduate

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Passionate about volunteering and promoting volunteerism
- Should be resident of Chennai pincode 600018, or willing to relocate
- Good computer knowledge and MS office skills.Familiarity with using the Internet - doing online research, compiling and putting things together, Google Docs, Social Media, etc.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage all the stakeholders.
- Strong public speaking and group facilitation skills are a must.
- Very responsive - quick to get back to people, always available.
- Ability to manage and implement programs and “get results” as the core focus
- Reliable and Dependable
