Credit Risk Strategist (Digital Unsecured Lending)Location: MumbaiReady to shape the future of digital lending?We are hiring for a listed NBFC at the forefront of the Digital Lending revolution in India, based in Mumbai.We are searching for an accomplished and analytically-driven Credit Risk professional to take ownership of the risk framework for rapidly expanding unsecured personal loan portfolio. This is a high-impact role where your strategic decisions will directly influence our growth trajectory and financial health.Core ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Decision Science- Design, test, and optimize end-to-end credit strategies and underwriting rules for unsecured personal loans, focusing on balancing growth, profitability, and risk.- Lead the integration of advanced analytics into the credit decisioning process, leveraging machine learning and real-time decision engines for instant credit scoring and offers.- Proactively identify and develop strategies to minimize losses from fraud and emerging risk factors.Process & Execution- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to streamline digital underwriting journeys, ensuring a seamless customer experience while maintaining strict risk controls.- Oversee and manage risk across the entire loan lifecycle, from acquisition and disbursement through to monitoring repayment performance and optimizing collections strategies.- Conduct deep-dive analysis on portfolio performance metrics (e.g., delinquency, NPA, loss rates) and propose data-backed risk mitigation strategies.Regulatory & Industry Leadership- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RBI guidelines, industry best practices, and competitor credit policies, ensuring all credit operations remain compliant and competitive.The Ideal Candidate: Qualifications- 5-8 years of progressive experience in Credit Risk Management, with a substantial focus on unsecured personal loans- Mandatory Experience: Prior work experience with a FinTech or Digital Lending NBFC that operates a high-volume, tech-first lending platform, ideally via a proprietary consumer app.- Technical Acumen: Strong proficiency in applying analytical tools and working with large data sets to build and validate credit models and policies.- Digital Mindset: Demonstrated ability to translate complex credit policy into functional requirements for digital underwriting systems and decision engines.- Soft Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive results through cross-functional collaboration.
