Position Overview: As General Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and executing our company’s growth strategy in India. This position is ideal for an experienced leader who thrives on building businesses from the ground up, handling both the high-level strategy and the day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for all staffing, budgeting, and operational functions, and will have the autonomy to implement strategies and policies that align with our long-term goals.

Your mission will be to not only lead the setup of our manufacturing plant but to create a sustainable, efficient operation that upholds our values and objectives. This role offers the unique challenge and privilege of laying the foundation for a significant business expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: As a visionary leader, you will craft and drive business strategies that align with our company’s overall objectives. This involves setting targets, designing strategic initiatives, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Establishing Business Operations in India: You will be responsible for all aspects of setting up our manufacturing presence in Gujarat, which includes navigating regulatory requirements and building relationships with local government agencies. Your leadership will be essential to ensuring that our facility is established efficiently and begins production on schedule.
  • Operational Management: This role demands a hands-on approach to overseeing the daily operations of all departments. You will implement best practices and processes to maximize productivity, streamline operations, and ensure that every aspect of our operations aligns with our goals for quality, efficiency, and growth.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Building a high-performing, motivated team is one of your core responsibilities. You’ll provide coaching, mentorship, and support to your team members, helping them achieve their professional potential while aligning their efforts with our company’s objectives.
  • Financial and Budget Management: Managing finances and budgets is crucial to the role, as you will ensure we meet our financial targets. You’ll monitor financial performance, analyze budget reports, and take proactive measures to keep our operations within budget while supporting growth.
  • Policy Development and Compliance: In this role, you’ll set policies and procedures that reflect our company’s values, standards, and regulatory requirements. This includes establishing a framework for ethical practices and safety, creating a foundation that protects our team and promotes a positive work environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders—including government bodies, employees, clients, and suppliers—will be essential to your success. You’ll serve as an ambassador for our brand, fostering partnerships and ensuring our company remains a trusted player in the industry.
  • Performance Monitoring and Risk Management: You’ll regularly evaluate the company’s performance through metrics and data analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement and areas for growth. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for risk assessment, ensuring that our operations remain resilient and compliant with regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned General Manager with experience in the peanut manufacturing industry or a similar field. You should possess:
  • Proven experience leading business operations, ideally with a background in manufacturing and plant management.
  • A strategic mindset with a talent for data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills that allow you to inspire teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is required, while an MBA would be highly regarded.
