The ideal candidate will work on modernization and maintenance of legacy mainframe systems while integrating with Java-based applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2 .Design and implement Java-based modules for mainframe modernization and integration.Work on application migration projects from mainframe to distributed or cloud-based environments.Perform analysis, debugging, and optimization of existing COBOL programs and DB2 queries.Collaborate with business analysts and architects to translate requirements into technical solutions.Participate in code reviews , unit testing, and system integration testing.Troubleshoot production issues and provide effective resolutions within SLAs.Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and best practices.Technical Skills RequiredMainframe Technologies: COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS (optional)Programming Languages: Core Java / Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIsDatabases: DB2, SQLTools: Eclipse, Git, Jenkins, JIRA, IBM Rational tools (if applicable)OS & Platforms: z/OS, Windows/LinuxUnderstanding of SDLC , Agile methodologies , and CI/CD pipelines .
