The ideal candidate will work on modernization and maintenance of legacy mainframe systems while integrating with Java-based applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintainmainframe applicationsusingCOBOL, JCL, and DB2 . Design and implementJava-based modulesfor mainframe modernization and integration. Work onapplication migrationprojects from mainframe to distributed or cloud-based environments. Perform analysis, debugging, and optimization of existing COBOL programs and DB2 queries. Collaborate with business analysts and architects to translate requirements into technical solutions. Participate incode reviews , unit testing, and system integration testing. Troubleshoot production issues and provide effective resolutions within SLAs. Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and best practices. Technical Skills Required Mainframe Technologies:COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS (optional) Programming Languages:Core Java / Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs Databases:DB2, SQL Tools:Eclipse, Git, Jenkins, JIRA, IBM Rational tools (if applicable) OS & Platforms:z/OS, Windows/Linux Understanding ofSDLC ,Agile methodologies , andCI/CD pipelines .
