Montfort South Asia, the fastest-growing strategic communications and public relations firm in the region, is looking to hire a dedicated and experienced Account Director.


To be considered for this role, applicants should come from a strategic communications or corporate communications background. Preferably, with in-agency experience.


Day-to-day responsibilities


·     Leading a team of intelligent and hard-working consultants to deliver world-class public relations and communications support to a range of international and Indian clients

·     Being able to attend and lead on multiple client calls weekly, building rapport with international and Indian clients

·     Independently delegating and organising the team so that work is distributed and that deadlines are met

·     Overseeing the production of written work for clients, including quarterly coverage plans, briefing notes and written op-eds and interviews, and editing work to ensure it meets our clients’ standards as necessary

·     Advising clients on political and economic trends in South Asia that could improve or impact their operations

·     Producing a daily summary of work completed by the team for the Managing Director’s review

·     When client work is quiet, you must show that you can use this time to pursue your own business development work for the company to bring in new clients or seek in-person opportunities to build relationships with journalists

·     Assisting with the crafting of pitch proposals for prospective new clients and attending meetings and pitches for new business in-person or remotely


Requirements

·     Must have at least seven years’ experience in corporate communications, strategic communications or public relations

·     A strong track record of leading on accounts involving both international and domestic clients, and managing more junior staff

·     Excellent organisation and communication skills are vital. The candidate should be able to work smoothly with several consultants and ensure deadlines are not missed

·     Knowledge of major economic and political trends in South Asia, to advise on potential coverage themes

·     Existing network of good journalistic contacts across Indian Tier One publications and financial and trade publications.


Salary: $3,500, per month


Job location: Mumbai, India, with domestic and international travel


Three days per week in the office and two days remote working. Every six weeks, there is one week of fully remote working


Hours: Mon-Fri, 9-6pm, with extended hours when required. Must be ready to start work before the end of January
