This is an exciting opportunity to join the fastest-growing strategic communications consultancy in South Asia, where we advise some of the largest international and Indian corporations on their public relations strategies in India and overseas


Montfort South Asia is headed up by Joe Wallen, the former South Asia Bureau Chief of the Telegraph and current Chairman of the British Business Group in Mumbai, who is supported by some of India's most talented communications professionals and ex-journalists.


This position is for an ambitious and hard-working candidate who must come from a strategic communications, corporate communications or journalism background and have eligibility to work in India.


Candidates must be available for an interview before November 25 and be ready to start work before January 31.


Day-to-day responsibilities


  • Work closely with Montfort's existing clients to meet their public relations needs, including writing quarterly content and strategy plans, arranging news cycle-relevant media opportunities and drafting briefing notes, op-eds and press releases
  • Assist in the writing of proposal and pitching documents for prospective clients
  • Accompany the rest of the Mumbai team in meeting and pitching to clients in-person and remotely
  • Develop your own relationships with journalists across key industry sectors, such as financial services, healthcare and luxury and commerce


Requirements


  • Must have at least 2-3 years experience in strategic communications, corporate communications or journalism
  • Strong written English is essential and understanding of Hindi is useful
  • Knowledge of major economic and political trends in India, and across the wider region
  • Ability to work smoothly with other colleagues in a team, communicating and delegating tasks where necessary, as well as being a self-starter who can work independently on client accounts
  • Have existing – or be able to develop – good relationships with the international, domestic and trade media
  • Passionate about the growing Indian economy and playing a key role in attracting business here


The monthly salary offered for this role is $2,500.


Montfort South Asia offers hybrid work - a combination of in-office and WFH. Working hours are 9am-6pm, with additional hours required during times of high volume.
