Job Description:

As a Developer Relations Engineer/Manager, you will be responsible for connecting our company with developer communities, helping them learn about, adopt, and love our products. You will create educational content, host events, manage community outreach, and actively work with internal teams to improve our developer-facing products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement & Advocacy: Build and nurture relationships with developers, both online and offline, through platforms such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, Reddit, Slack, Twitter, and Discord. Be the voice of the developer community within the company.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality content (blog posts, tutorials, videos, webinars, podcasts, and other educational materials) that help developers understand, use, and get the most out of our products and services.
  • Product Evangelism: Represent the company at industry events (conferences, meetups, hackathons) to demonstrate the value of our products, deliver technical talks, and engage with developers in real-time.
  • Feedback & Insights: Collect feedback from the developer community to share with internal product and engineering teams, ensuring that our offerings evolve in line with user needs.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Assist developers with technical questions and provide support through community forums, GitHub issues, or other support channels. Help troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Collaboration with Product Teams: Work closely with product, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure product messaging and features align with the needs of developers. Advocate for the adoption of best practices and developer-centric product designs.
  • Developer Education: Create engaging learning resources and guides for both new and experienced developers. Host webinars, workshops, and virtual events to educate and guide developers through technical concepts.
  • Community Growth: Help scale and grow our developer community by creating engaging and valuable content, establishing partnerships with influencers, and encouraging user-generated content and contributions.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of (specific technologies relevant to the company/products, e.g., cloud platforms, APIs, programming languages). Able to code, troubleshoot, and provide solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and concisely through written, video, and verbal formats.
  • Community Engagement: Experience building, growing, or managing online developer communities or technical user groups.
  • Content Creation Skills: Proven ability to create engaging and educational content like blog posts, tutorials, videos, or technical documentation.
  • Public Speaking: Comfortable delivering presentations, technical talks, and demos at conferences, meetups, webinars, or other developer-focused events.
  • Problem-Solving & Empathy: Ability to understand and address developers' pain points and help them overcome challenges with your product or service.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing teams to shape the developer experience and feedback loop.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Developer Relations, Community Management, or a similar technical advocacy role.
  • Familiarity with frontend development using React, Javascript, HTML, low-code development.
  • Experience with public speaking or content creation, such as running workshops, contributing to open-source, or creating video tutorials.
  • Experience in (specific industry or technology relevant to the company’s product).
  • Passion for helping developers, teaching new technologies, and fostering a sense of community.
