Business Development Manager

Industry: Freight Forwarding/Logistics (Ocean/Air Import & Export)
Experience: 5+ Years in Project Sales Role within the Freight Forwarding industry
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and target potential clients within the heavy machinery, oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, and construction sectors
Develop and implement sales strategies for project cargo, aiming to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competition.
Build and nurture long-term client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Create and present compelling project proposals and service offering tailored to customer needs.
Key Qualifications:
Education : Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of sales experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry, with at least 2 years in project cargo.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of project cargo handling, heavy-lift operations, and regulatory requirements.
Project Management and Coordination:
Collaborate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure the successful handling of project cargo, from planning to execution.
Provide technical support and advice to clients on cargo specifications, transport solutions, route planning, and cost optimization.
Oversee the preparation of necessary documentation, including permits, licenses, and customs paperwork.
Manage timelines and budgets to meet client expectations and ensure smooth execution of each project
Strategic Planning and Market Analysis:
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities for project cargo sales within the region.
Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve objectives.
Keep abreast of regulatory changes, environmental considerations, and technological advances impacting the industry.
Collaboration and Cross-functional Coordination:
Work closely with global teams, local logistics partners, and customs officials to ensure efficient project execution.
Coordinate with finance and legal teams to finalize contract terms, ensure compliance, and mitigate risks.
Skills:
Proven track record in sales and client relationship management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
