Job Description

The role of a Learning Support Specialist is pivotal in enhancing the student experience. As a subject matter expert, you will play a significant role in guiding students through their learning journey, providing assistance and aid to learners enrolled in programs within various fields.

Our ideal candidate must possess industry experience, demonstrated knowledge of the course subject area, and strong interpersonal skills. This full-time, remote role requires excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced educational tech environment.

The purpose of this position is to provide support and guidance to learners who are new to or experienced in machine learning and AI, data engineering, data science, and data analytics. You will be responsible for monitoring and responding to student inquiries via the learning management system and learner support software within 24 hours or less of submission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to student inquiries using compassion and understanding for the student learning journey
  • Rely on industry knowledge to guide students through complex assignments and questions
  • Provide prompt feedback that includes pointed questions to help students build problem-solving skills
  • Work with students who are new to the subject matter or those with experience
  • Suggest course improvements to assigned Program Delivery Manager (PDM) and Designer to ensure content is communicated clearly and effectively

Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • 5+ years of extensive work experience in data engineering, data science, or data analytics
  • Professional and/or academic experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and GitHub
  • Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure
  • Advanced academic background in mathematics, particularly statistics, calculus, and linear algebra
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
