English Educator Role Summary

As an English Educator, you will support the academic development of student-athletes by integrating English instruction with athletic schedules. This requires strong communication skills and a commitment to helping athletes excel both academically and in their respective sports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide written and verbal communication support to ensure clear, concise, and professional interaction.
  • Encourage students to practice effective communication through group discussions, debates, and presentations.

Time Management and Flexibility:

  • Adapt lesson delivery to accommodate fluctuating athletic schedules.
  • Offer flexible learning methods and additional support for students balancing training and travel with academic work.
  • Coordinate with coaches and advisors to maintain academic progress during peak seasons.

Student Assessment and Feedback:

  • Assess student-athletes' communication skills through assignments, oral presentations, writing exercises, and class participation.
  • Provide constructive feedback focusing on academic development and real-world communication skills.
  • Track individual progress and offer tailored guidance to improve English proficiency while managing athletic commitments.

Classroom Management:

  • Create a respectful classroom environment encouraging active participation and teamwork among student-athletes.
  • Implement strategies for managing group discussions, debates, and collaborative assignments.
  • Ensure students remain focused on studies during high-pressure athletic seasons.

Collaboration with Coaches and Staff:

  • Work closely with coaches to coordinate schedules and balance academic and athletic needs.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, coaches, and other teachers to support student-athletes' academic performance and well-being.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary projects integrating English learning with sports-related subjects.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Command of English grammar, literature, and writing.
  • Patience and creativity in addressing diverse learning needs.
  • Classroom management skills to create a positive and productive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's degree in English Education or Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience.
