RFP Specialist Job Description

As a skilled professional in proposal development, you will be responsible for crafting compelling proposals by determining the concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategic meetings to align with business objectives.
  • Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal, ensuring timely delivery and maximum impact.
  • Coordinate requirements with contributors and contribute proposal status information to review meetings to maintain transparency and ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Gather proposal information by identifying sources of data, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals to mitigate potential issues.
  • Develop proposals by assembling comprehensive information including project scope, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, implementation methods, timetable, staffing, budget considerations, standards of performance, and evaluation metrics.
  • Write, revise, and edit drafts, including executive summaries, conclusions, and organizational credentials, to effectively communicate the value proposition and key differentiators.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including team members, clients, and subject matter experts, to foster effective collaboration and ensure successful outcomes.
