Job Title: Garment Category Manager

The Garment Category Manager plays a pivotal role in driving end-to-end category management for woven garments, serving as the strategic link between buyers, suppliers, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to craft seasonal collections based on customer requirements and market trends.
  • Develop samples, negotiate prices, and confirm orders with respective buyers while ensuring timely procurement of materials and optimal cost management.
  • Procure high-quality materials on time, streamline processes, and enhance budget efficiency.
  • Exercise exceptional attention to detail, work independently, and adapt to changing environments and priorities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams through clear communication and negotiation skills.
  • Possess technical knowledge of woven garment manufacturing for various categories, including shirts, jackets, and bottoms.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience and ownership of job responsibilities, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel Merchandising, or Fashion Technology.
  • 3-8 years of experience as a Merchandiser in a woven garment factory (buyer handling experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of woven fabrics, garment construction, costing, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MIS systems.
  • Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
