About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Trims Designer with 1–3 years of experience in plastic trims design, development, and validation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing feasibility, and fit & finish requirements for exterior components.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and release exterior trim components such as bumpers, grilles, body claddings, spoilers, roof rails, etc.
  • Work on CAD modelling, packaging studies, and drawing release using CATIA.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Styling, CAE, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers) for product development.
  • Evaluate parts to ensure they meet engineering, regulatory, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Manage design changes, cost optimization, and documentation.
  • Support prototype build, testing, and validation activities.
  • Resolve fitment issues during assembly and support manufacturing feasibility.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
  • Relevant experience in exterior trims development in the automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools like CATIA V5
  • Knowledge of plastics, sheet metal, and painting processes.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
  • Understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
