Exterior Trims Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Exterior Trims Engineer to join our team.

This role involves designing, developing, and releasing exterior trim components such as bumpers, grilles, body claddings, spoilers, roof rails, etc.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing feasibility, and fit & finish requirements for exterior components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development and Release: Design, develop, and release exterior trim components in accordance with company standards.
  • CAD Modelling and Drawing Release: Utilize CATIA V5 to create CAD models, perform packaging studies, and draw releases.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with cross-functional teams (Styling, CAE, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers) to ensure successful product development.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure parts meet engineering, regulatory, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Design Changes and Cost Optimization: Manage design changes, optimize costs, and maintain DFMEA documentation.
  • Prototype Build and Testing: Support prototype build, testing, and validation activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in exterior trims development in the automotive sector.
  • CAD Tools: Proficiency in CATIA V5.
  • Materials Knowledge: Understanding of plastics, sheet metal, and painting processes.
  • GD&T and Tolerance Stack-up: Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
  • DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP: Basic understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
