Director of Revenue Management

Job Summary:

The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for leading the Revenue Management team in driving revenue growth and maximizing profitability for the hotel. This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior to develop effective revenue strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement revenue management strategies to drive revenue growth and maximize profitability.
  • Lead the Revenue Management team in analyzing market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior to inform revenue strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop effective rate offers and packages that drive revenue.
  • Manage the hotel's revenue system, including rate and availability audits, to ensure rate parity across all channels.
  • Develop and train the Revenue Analyst/Distribution Executive/Reservations Team to ensure they understand and can implement revenue management principles.
  • Participate in revenue conference calls with Corporate to ensure alignment and share best practices.
  • Manage relationships with third-party online intermediaries, especially OTAs and Regional Travel Agents.
  • Produce and analyze current and historical demand, including lost business turndown, rooms on the books, competitive set, and market trends to aid in more accurate forecasting.
  • Liaise with Group and Business Sales Managers, Reservations, and Front Office to ensure yield and revenue management principles are understood and followed.
  • Operationalize hotel and corporate pricing strategies through definition and management of rate levels, stay restrictions, and other tactics that are congruent with demand factors and managed through all distribution channels.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in revenue management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue management systems and tools, including PMS and GDS.
