Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop power plant TG hall layouts, piping layouts, civil and structure design inputs, isometrics, and support drawings, as well as piping BOMs with time-bound and cost-optimized approaches.
  • Calculate pipe sizes, thicknesses, material selections, and pressure drops.
  • Have an overview of various types of pumps, heat exchangers, instrument hookups, pipe fittings, valves, and specialty items.
  • Interpret stress analysis reports for selection and design of critical pipe supports.
  • Support bid-phase projects for basic piping and layout engineering work, identify contract ambiguities, prepare CRS, MOMs, and collect vendor offers for costing.
  • Review external documents like civil and structure arrangements, customer piping layouts, cable trays, and ducts to check interfaces.
  • Work on 3D modeling software CADISON/PDMS/E3D for piping engineering activities and have exposure to various CAD formats.
  • Be familiar with piping engineering codes and standards like ASME B31.1, B31.3, ANSI, IBR, EJMA, and associated codes for power plant piping engineering.
  • Coordinate with customers, PMs, proposals, QMs, factory, site teams, and third-party vendors during execution.
  • Contribute to cost-outs, lean processes, process automation, and digitalization efforts.
  • Exhibit soft skills like self-motivation, self-initiative, teamwork, influence, and leadership behavior.

This position requires a strong foundation in piping engineering principles and practices, along with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
