Job Title: Piping Stress Engineer

Piping Stress Engineer Job Description
  • Main Responsibilities:
    • Evaluate piping systems to ensure they can withstand various stresses and loads.
    • Perform pipe stress analysis for different equipment, including steam turbines, compressors, centrifugal pumps, tanks, exchangers, heaters, and columns.
    • Analyze pipe loading information and resolve high pipe loads on equipment nozzles and high secondary stresses in piping.
    • Select suitable pipe supports, such as spring hangers, snubbers, and struts.
    • Prepare and interpret stress calculations for complex piping systems in high seismic zones.
    • Locate and identify pipe supports on isometrics.
    • Evaluate local stresses via code cases like N318, N392, and WRC107/297.
    • Support structure calculations using tools like STADD.
    • Review and sign-off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Essential Skills:
    • Knowledge of design codes and standards applicable for Pipe Stress Analysis and Pipe Support design.
    • Excellent understanding of stress analysis software's like Caesar 2, Autopipe, Rohr 2, etc., and their applicability and interpretation.
