Senior Piping Stress Engineer

Our team is seeking a skilled Piping Stress Engineer to join our organization. This role involves performing pipe stress analysis for various equipment and providing loading information to the civil/structure department.

• We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of design codes and standards applicable for Pipe Stress Analysis, including identifying different stress packages through review of P&IDs / Line Designation tables.
• The ideal candidate will have very good knowledge of stress analysis software's like Caesar 2, Auto pipe, etc. and its applicability and interpretation.
• They must perform piping flexibility analysis (static and dynamic) for critical piping systems during preliminary design and detailed design phase of Project.
• Responsibilities also include performing analysis for sustained, thermal and multiple operating cases, occasional (viz winds, seismic, relief, hammer etc.), as well as resolving high pipe loads on equipment nozzles and resolving high secondary stresses in piping.
• Selection of spring hangers, snubbers, struts for pipe supports is also required.
• Apart from these tasks, they will be responsible for preparation and interpretation/review of stress calculations of relatively complex nature in high seismic zones.
• Locating and identifying pipe supports on isometrics along with type of supports, evaluating local stresses via code cases like N318, N392, and WRC107/297, and reviewing and signing off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supporting are also part of this role.
• Additionally, they will prepare complete documentation of the stress analysis and support design and participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from suppliers.
• It is mandatory that the individual has experience of working in different sectors like Oil & Gas, Power, Semiconductor Projects. Experience of Cryogenic or LNG Piping systems will be an added advantage.
• Understanding role played by other disciplines on the project and providing technical direction and assigning work to engineers who are assigned on specific assignments are also key responsibilities.

Candidates should also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional requirements include a thorough understanding of piping materials and fabrication techniques, as well as experience with CAD software and computer-aided engineering tools.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required, while relevant certifications such as PE or EIT can be beneficial.
