Job Overview:

Culinary Team Lead

This role involves overseeing daily food preparation and cooking activities in a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating tasks, supervising staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of food service venues on board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate activities of a workstation team engaged in preparing and cooking food products for various outlets per instruction of the direct supervisor onboard.

• Ensure all duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with Food Safety and HACCP guidelines, environmental, and workplace safety policies and procedures.

• Conduct an inventory of workstation storage, determine day's food requirements, and prepare daily requisitions for approval.

• Apply HACCP and onboard sanitation standards at all times.

• Train and monitor entry-level cooks and chefs for proper service, providing on-the-job training to strengthen their performance and prepare them for advancement.

• Work cooperatively with galley personnel in a productive and effective manner.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by participating in cleaning workstations during and after meal preparation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of experience in upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service.

• Previous experience as Chef De Partie/Demi Chef De Partie is advantageous.

• Culinary school degree required.

• Strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.

• Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing personalized services.

• Intermediate computer software skills required.

• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
