Senior Global Accounting Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager to lead our global accounting operations.

• Accounting Close: Oversee the accurate, complete and timely monthly and quarterly accounting close for Europe.
• Checklist Review: Use and review of month-end accounting checklist to ensure seamless process execution.
• Journal Entries: Responsible for the review of manual Journal Entries posted by our outsource partner accounting staff.
• Trial Balance: Responsible for the review of trial balance and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Balance Sheet Reviews: Perform quarterly Balance Sheet reviews to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Coordination: Coordinate and oversee accounting activities performed by our outsource partners.
• Link between Teams: Operate as a link between local, regional and functional finance teams (Tax, Treasury, Customer Finance, Disbursements etc.) to establish clear roles & responsibilities and install the appropriate processes and tools for Europe.
• Tax Compliance: Support and advise local Finance leads with Tax compliance, internal and external audits as well as implementation of recommended improvements for ELMAC.
• Close Packages: Supports the preparation of close packages (including variance analysis) to provide timely insights to stakeholders.
• Complex Countries/Operations Sites: Supports the more complex countries/operations sites with technical accounting guidance and controlling training.
• Process Improvements: Lead for Accounting (automation) projects and Process improvements for ELMAC Accounting HUB and/or cross functional.
• Control Validations: Performs control validations and testing (IICC/SOX).
• Financial Metrics: Create and track financial metrics as part of dashboard for management.

• Education: Master's degree or equivalent and 10+ years of Finance experience OR Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of Finance experience.
• Qualifications: CPA or equivalent, knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
• Skills: Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, experience with ERP systems and financial software.
• Experience: Financial experience in a global, multi-site corporation.

• Advanced Degree: Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or MBA.
• Extensive Experience: Extensive accounting experience.
• Priorities Management: Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in parallel.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
• Global Finance: Experience with global finance operations.
• Data Analytics: Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools.
• Finance Transformation: Finance transformation experience involving recent technology advancements.
• Multinational Capability Center: Prior multinational capability center experience.
• SAP/Blackline/Tableau/PowerBI: Experience with SAP (ECC and/or S4), Blackline, Workiva, Tableau/PowerBI.
