Unix Systems Support Specialist

  • This role is ideal for a highly motivated and skilled technical professional with a strong background in Unix system administration.

Please note that you will be required to provide level 2 or level 3 support for Unix systems in a mission-critical banking environment.

Your key responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements, as well as operating under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).

You will be responsible for maintaining high availability, performance, and security of the Unix systems, participating in DR/BCP drills, troubleshooting complex incidents, and managing approved platform changes.

In addition, you will conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes, tune configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability, and coordinate with vendors.

Strong documentation, runbook hygiene, and clear communication with operations, security, audit, and business stakeholders are essential for this role.

You will also be required to demonstrate an ownership mindset and readiness for 24x7 support and on-call rotation.
