Job Title: Senior Linux System Administrator

About the Role:

  • We require a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux System Administrator.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure seamless operations and project alignment across technology teams.
  2. Implement infrastructure including hardware, servers, and virtual machines.
  3. Maintain systems with regular updates, patches, and firmware maintenance.
  4. Provide prompt technical support, including root cause analysis and testing.
  5. Drive automation and suggest process improvements for operational efficiency.
  6. Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, implementations, and support activities.
  7. Recommend and implement strategies to enhance system performance.
  8. Collaborate with teams to validate system operability and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  9. Monitor system health and performance metrics to address potential issues proactively.
  10. Evaluate compliance with organizational standards and security policies across all systems.
  11. Manage physical Dell servers to ensure optimal performance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent field of study.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication, and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Intermediate level knowledge/Responsibility Redhat/Centos.
  • Expert level knowledge of UNIX/Linux (L3).
  • Knowledge of automation/configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Python.
  • Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments.
  • Performance troubleshooting and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and tuning of Linux/Unix OS.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware and software.
  • Preparation and implementation of Linux/UNIX operating software and associated components.
  • Experience on User Administration using LDAP.
  • VMware Administration – Virtualization techniques or any other virtualization technology.
  • System security, patching, and upgrades experience.
  • Good understanding of SAN storage and virtualization.
  • Proficient with LVM and Linux File systems.
  • Ability to tune kernel/System parameters.
  • Knowledge on Oracle ASM and SAN Storage.
  • TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, NFS experience.
