Job Title: Digital System Architect

The role of a digital system architect entails designing and implementing high-performance digital systems. A successful candidate will be responsible for defining the architecture of complex digital systems, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and leading projects from concept to delivery.

  • Define the digital system architecture based on customer specifications and requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with project timelines, dependencies, and customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement algorithms for implementation in FPGA and/or software, including signal processing functions and building blocks.
  • Provide estimates on digital system resources, computation bandwidth, and memory bandwidth.
  • Create module-level details from architecture, coding, simulation, and peer reviews, applying methodologies for design, verification, or validation.
  • Develop and maintain all project-related documentation, especially design documents with detailed analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with customers during integration phases at test sites and production teams.
  • Define the architecture of digital system functions.
  • Design, develop, and verify HDL code.
  • Perform simulation and implementation tasks.
  • Test and debug digital systems on board.
Key Skills:
  • Proficiency in VHDL programming language.
  • Expertise in Xilinx tools for synthesis and implementation.
  • Thorough understanding of Xilinx FPGAs.
  • Functional simulation expertise.
  • Logic design and debugging expertise.
  • FPGA design using VHDL/Verilog RTL Coding and System C/System Verilog.
  • Familiarity with FPGA synthesis and PAR tools.
  • Experience in implementing DSP algorithms in FPGA environments for Radar and Electronic Warfare systems.
  • Modeling algorithms in Octave/MATLAB, generating test vectors, and visualizing data.
  • Working knowledge of interfacing with ADCs and DACs and interpreting their performance.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Configuration and version control tools like SVN.
