We're seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join our team at Hotel Trader. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, resilient systems using Java (Spring Boot) and event-driven architectures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, with a minimum of 8-12 years of experience in Java programming. They should also have hands-on experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and NoSQL databases such as ScyllaDB and MongoDB.

In addition to technical expertise, we are looking for a leader who can own end-to-end delivery of critical initiatives from design to deployment. The successful candidate will have excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across product teams, clients, and cross-functional tech teams.

Key Responsibilities include driving system design and platform architecture decisions, building scalable, resilient systems using Java (Spring Boot) and event-driven architectures, solving real-time, high-throughput challenges in search, pricing, and booking workflows, owning end-to-end delivery of critical initiatives from design to deployment, and mentoring teams while solving complex technical challenges.
