The Academic Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic programs of an institution, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:- Curriculum Development and Management:
- Collaborate with faculty to develop, update, and maintain course curriculum aligning with program objectives and accreditation requirements.
- Review and approve course syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessment methods.
- Facilitate curriculum mapping to ensure consistency across programs.
- Student Support:
- Provide academic advising to students on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies.
- Monitor student academic progress, identify at-risk students, and implement interventions.
- Coordinate academic support services like tutoring, workshops, and study skills development.
- Faculty Support:
- Assist faculty with administrative tasks like course scheduling, textbook orders, grade submissions, and room assignments.
- Facilitate faculty development opportunities and professional development initiatives.
- Communicate important academic updates and policies to faculty.
- Scheduling and Logistics:
- Create and manage class schedules, exam timetables, and room assignments.
- Coordinate course registration and student enrollment processes.
- Manage academic calendars and important deadlines.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate student academic records, including transcripts, grades, and program evaluations.
- Analyze student performance data to identify trends and inform program improvements.
- Generate reports on academic metrics for administration and stakeholders.
- Program Evaluation:
- Conduct regular reviews of academic programs to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Collect feedback from students, faculty, and stakeholders to inform program modifications.
- Admissions Support:
- Collaborate with admissions teams to review student applications and academic credentials.
- Provide information to prospective students regarding academic programs and admission requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience as an Academic Coordinator.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and interpret results.
- Knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
- Proficiency in student information systems and data management tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
