The World Resources Institute India is seeking a highly motivated intern to support our Sustainable Cities and Transport Program in decarbonizing freight. This role focuses on developing a charging infrastructure roadmap for sub-national governments, aiming to equip states with the necessary tools to deploy charging infrastructure as the logistics industry transitions to electric fleets.

Your Day-to-Day • Conduct secondary research on freight movement landscapes, high-demand corridors, port and industry linkages, and technical specifications of charging requirements for large and medium-duty vehicles.
• Design data collection instruments like surveys and execute them on the ground.
• Collaborate with industry, government, and other stakeholders to identify individual priorities.
• Analyze various data sets and generate actionable insights.
• Contribute to report writing, slide deck preparation, and outreach efforts to disseminate project outcomes.

Requirements • Master's degree in Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, or Urban Planning.
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, GIS software (QGIS), MS Office, and programming languages (R, Python).
• Excellent writing skills and ability to produce high-quality research.
• Prior experience or understanding of freight or electrification is desirable.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

What We Offer

Stipend: ₹25,000 per month.

Location: Mumbai, India.

Duration: 6 months.
