Accounting Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced accounting manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial properties, meeting lender, tax, and investor requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall property level accounting, including financial reports, annual budgets, and quarterly budget re-projections.
  • Work closely with 3rd party property teams to review accounting for consistency, accuracy, and proper accounting.
  • Handle rent rolls, lease maintenance, cash management, and tax basis amortization and depreciation calculations.
  • Provide support to 3rd party MRI users and review operating and tax escalations, annual estimates, and reconciliations.
  • Manage loan compliance, mortgage payments, and lender reporting, including debt service coverage ratio calculations.
  • Prepare unaudited and audited financial reports as required by ownership, provide comprehensive audit support, and work with construction professionals on development projects.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Joint Venture Accounting

Review and comply with operating agreements, prepare consolidated financial reporting, and calculate management fees and income allocations.

Acquisitions and Dispositions

Work with acquisitions and disposition teams to review diligence materials, prepare prorations, and monitor post-closing activity for true-up.

Skill & Experience:

  • 5-8 years property accounting experience in commercial real estate.
  • Experience with Funds and/or Joint Ventures, fair value GAAP, tax accounting, and TRS (Taxable REIT Subsidiaries).
  • Proficient with tenant recoveries (CAM), understanding of waterfall calculations, and experience in year-end audit.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and proficient with financial software systems and Microsoft Windows software programs.
