Disaster Recovery Specialist

The Disaster Recovery Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the resilience of our Enterprise IT systems. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Business Continuity Plans that guarantee minimal disruption to critical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements comprehensive business recovery strategies, reviewing, revising, and expanding existing plans and protocols as necessary.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and implement Enterprise Disaster Recovery Plans, risk assessments, and application and technical strategies.
  • Conducts thorough risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unforeseen disruptions such as natural disasters, security breaches, legal claims, and market disruptions.
  • Aligns IT organization priorities and plans with key business objectives, driving strategic initiatives that enhance business continuity.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and implements recovery operations and methods to enable the organization to function at limited or partial capacity in the event of infrastructure damage or destruction.
  • Creates and facilitates practice drills for plan execution, ensuring seamless response to emergency situations.
  • Develops and tracks program metrics (as developed) to demonstrate activities and progress toward established goals.
  • Reviews, configures, and maintains business continuity and crisis management tools, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Coordinates with health, safety, and security staff, as well as local, state, and federal agencies, to align the organization's emergency management plan with community standards and regulations.
  • Supports the event of a business disruption by managing response coordination and communications, ensuring timely and effective response.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess experience in disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and IT service management, with a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments.
