Incident Management Role

The role of Incident Manager involves being the liaison between various teams such as Support, Engineering, and Infrastructure. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for organizing and driving the investigation of production issues in our application, which is a SaaS product consisting of Spring based microservices, ML models and data pipelines hosted within the AWS infrastructure.

This position requires someone who is passionate about product quality, has extreme customer empathy, and is constantly looking to improve the quality of our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate production issues raised by customers, Support and Engineering teams.
  • Work closely with Support and Engineering teams to facilitate issue resolution, root cause analysis (RCA), and drive the implementation of learnings.
  • Create and track progress of problem tickets in Jira.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to create incident analysis reports.
  • Analyze log files using Datadog.
  • Perform basic debugging of REST API calls.
  • Execute SQL database queries to provide more information for investigations.
  • Contribute to creating and updating knowledge base articles in Confluence.
  • Participate in security audits and prepare supporting evidence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in IT (SRE, sysadmin, developer, QA, technical support or similar).
  • University degree in relevant field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems architecture.
  • Data analysis skills - creating and interpreting dashboards to distinguish between real issues and false positives.
  • Project management and documentation skills like Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure components.
  • Experience with REST APIs and tools like Postman.
  • Experience with application logging/monitoring tools like Kibana and Datadog.
  • Experience with SQL, Linux and Network environments.
  • Will to learn new technical skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with basic ML concepts and LLMs.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control system.
  • Experience with agile software development process.
  • Jenkins or similar CI pipeline.
  • Bash scripting for Linux.
  • Basic skills in software development (Java, Python, JavaScript, Go).
  • Experience with Docker and Microservices.
  • Network and application security.
  • Working within a PCI DSS environment.
