Responsibilities
  • We are looking for someone who can plan and deliver high-quality chemistry lessons aligned with curriculum standards, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education.
  • The successful candidate will develop and implement engaging and interactive laboratory experiments, fostering a deeper understanding of chemical concepts among students.
  • This position requires assessing and evaluating student progress through assignments, tests, and examinations, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Providing individualized support and enrichment opportunities for students is essential, as is collaborating with fellow educators to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized classroom and laboratory environment is crucial, ensuring a positive and productive learning space for all students.
  • Effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance is also vital, keeping them informed about their child's progress.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. A teaching certification or license in secondary education is also required, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience teaching chemistry at the high school or equivalent level.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of chemistry concepts and laboratory safety procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and commitment to professional development and staying current with educational practices are essential qualities for success in this role.

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The estimated salary range is based on national averages and industry standards for this position in California.
