The Head of Engineering Excellence plays a pivotal role in ensuring engineering operations deliver top-tier quality and efficiency to support the business.

This position requires an experienced engineering leader with a wealth of experience from the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors, driving best practices and innovation across engineering teams.

  • Develop and implement strategies to elevate engineering standards and practices across all operations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Manage the design, maintenance, and optimization of engineering systems and facilities to meet unique demands of projects.
  • Ensure all engineering activities adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with clients, scientists, and internal teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet project needs and exceed expectations.

The successful candidate will bring a deep focus on shop-floor engagement, including analyzing equipment breakdowns, RCM - Reliability-Centered Maintenance etc. They will work closely with clients, scientists, and senior leadership to shape the future of engineering capabilities, balancing technical excellence with a strong focus on team development and client satisfaction.

With a solid grasp of cGMP compliance and regulatory and quality standards specific to the industry, the Head of Engineering Excellence will be responsible for:

  • Tying engineering objectives to the broader business strategy, contributing to the company's long-term success.
  • Building and executing plans to attract, retain, and grow top engineering talent, ensuring a robust and capable team.
  • Establishing strong risk management and safety protocols to protect the workforce and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Championing initiatives to reduce environmental impact and optimize resource use in engineering operations.
