Job Summary

The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in category management, pricing, merchandising, and a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools. A proven track record of achieving growth targets in an ecommerce environment and excellent analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Growth Planning:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to drive market share and profitability in the category.
    • Identify and capitalize on market trends, consumer insights, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
    • Collaborate with the category leadership to align growth initiatives with overall company goals.
  • Pricing Strategy:
    • Collate market information for understanding category's competition trends, consumer preferences, and fine-tune the pricing strategy based on these inputs.
    • Ability to evaluate and implement pricing tools available in the market or develop them with the tech team.
    • Support business decisions by formulating hypotheses, structured problem-solving, analyzing relevant data to verify hypotheses, and preparing documentation to communicate results with insights.
    • Conduct regular promotional analysis to develop in-store discount strategies for the brand/categories to deliver category goals and performance targets.
    • Develop and implement mitigation category strategies to minimize risks and ensure successful project outcomes.
    • Implement robust tracking mechanisms and KPIs to monitor the category's performance.
  • Marketing Strategy and Execution:
    • Lead the development and execution of innovative marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
    • Work closely with the central marketing team to create integrated marketing plans that leverage various channels, including digital, social media, email, and events.
    • Oversee merchandising, content creation, including product descriptions, promotional materials, and social media content.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Utilize data analytics to monitor category performance, customer behavior, and campaign effectiveness.
    • Generate actionable insights from data to optimize marketing strategies and drive continuous improvement.
    • Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities and threats, adjusting strategies accordingly.
  • Customer Focus:
    • Champion a customer-centric approach in all growth and marketing activities, ensuring alignment with customer needs and preferences.
    • Utilize customer feedback and insights to enhance the shopping experience and drive loyalty.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer retention and lifetime value.
  • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment:
    • Work closely with the buying team to ensure product assortment supports growth initiatives and marketing campaigns.
    • Coordinate with the central sales and merchandising teams to maximize promotional impact and sales effectiveness.
    • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive execution of category strategies.
  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee the marketing budget for the category, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and achievement of financial targets.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of growth and marketing initiatives.
    • Implement corrective actions to address any variances and optimize financial outcomes.
