Job Title: Chief Legal Governance Officer

The role of Chief Legal Governance Officer is to lead our dynamic legal and compliance team. As a seasoned legal professional, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and support across business functions.

This position oversees all legal matters including contracts, litigation, regulatory interactions, corporate governance, and strategic advisory services to support the company's growth and mitigate legal risks.

The selected candidate will head a team of lawyers and work with the company secretary for legal and regulatory compliances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic legal advice to the board and senior management on all legal matters.
  • Evaluate and mitigate legal risks associated with business decisions, structured transactions, securitization deals, and partnership agreements.
  • Advise on complex legal and regulatory issues related to lending, financing, and investment strategies.
  • Support business teams in structuring trade transactions, domestic and export factoring structures, and advising on securitization documentation.
  • Oversee drafting, reviewing, and negotiating all legal documents and contracts, ensuring standardization of legal templates for products and structured financing.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance best practices and develop internal policies, training programs, and awareness initiatives for business units.
Qualifications:
  • LLB or LLM from a reputable university.
  • Company Secretary (CS) qualification is desirable.
  • 10+ years of post-qualification experience with a strong background in NBFCs, banking, or financial services industries.
  • Strong knowledge of NBFC regulations, RBI guidelines, corporate laws, and financial legal frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead legal functions in a dynamic, fast-paced financial environment.
