Chief Academic Officer

The Chief Academic Officer is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the academic strategy and direction of the institution. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality education to students, while also driving innovation and excellence in research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Academic Leadership: Develop and implement the institution's academic strategy, aligning it with global standards and emerging trends in education.
  • Research Excellence: Foster a culture of research excellence by supporting faculty and students in scholarly activities, publishing, and securing research funding.
  • Institutional Governance: Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, while overseeing the functioning of statutory bodies such as the Academic Council and Finance Committee.
  • External Engagement: Represent the institution at national and international platforms to build visibility and reputation, establishing partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, and industries.
  • Student Success: Champion student welfare, mentoring, career readiness, and holistic development, creating a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating campus environment.

Qualifications:

  • A distinguished academician with teaching experience in a reputed institution.
  • A medical Doctor or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from a premier institution with experience in academic education, research, curriculum development, Administration, management is required.
  • Minimum 10+ Years of experience as professor or equivalent positions held in university system or reputed research or academic administrative organizations is required.

  • Proven expertise in steering an institution toward top rankings and accreditations.
  • Must have significant leadership experience in developing and executing a strategic vision; a persuasive and sophisticated communicator who can advance the institution's reputation.
  • An inspirational leader with intellectual breadth, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated expertise in research-driven programs and policies, experience developing and leveraging partnerships, and success leading diverse, complex teams and organizations.
