Job Title: Materials Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of raw materials necessary for production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the raw materials market.

Main Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyze market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities in the raw materials market.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.

Cost Management:

  • Manage the procurement budget for raw materials and ensure compliance with financial targets.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Inventory Management:

  • Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and reduce excess stock.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field. Professional certification (e.g. CPM, CPSM) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in procurement, with focus on raw materials.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices and strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and build strong partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. SAP knowledge essential.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
