Our organization seeks a visionary Creative Director to drive the strategic direction of our footwear design vertical.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to align design themes with brand positioning and consumer trends. They will be responsible for defining seasonal themes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creating trend-right collections that meet or exceed consumer expectations.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Direction: Develop and implement design strategies that align with brand positioning and consumer trends.
- Product Creation: Lead the development of footwear collections from concept to prototype, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Trend Analysis: Utilize forecasting platforms to stay ahead of the curve and create trend-right collections.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with marketing, content, and product development teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- CAD Development: Oversee the creation of 2D CADs and detailed tech packs for sampling and production.
- Design Software Expertise: Possess hands-on experience with Adobe tools for concept visualization and presentations.
- Vendor Interaction: Liaise with factories and vendors to ensure timely development of prototypes and commercial samples.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor designers, fostering creativity and excellence within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in footwear design, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing footwear design and development process.
- Proficiency in Adobe tools and basic skills.
- Solid understanding of footwear construction, materials, and fit.
- Experience working with trend forecasting platforms and consumer insight tools.
- Excellent communication, project management, and team leadership skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Previous experience with sportswear or activewear brands.
- Passionate about fitness, fashion, and creating consumer-centric designs.
This role requires a unique blend of creative vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting the design direction for our footwear category, translating brand strategy into trend-forward and consumer-relevant products, and collaborating across functions to bring collections to life. They will also oversee the creation of 2D CADs and detailed tech packs for sampling and production, manage and mentor a small team of designers, and liaise with factories and vendors for timely development of prototypes and commercial samples.
