Job Description

We seek a seasoned professional to join our Data Engineering team as a Senior Manager. This hybrid role involves collaborating with colleagues and working closely with clients in-office at least three days a week.

  • Develop expertise in insurance domain knowledge, focusing on nuances of each UK Specialty.
  • Understand the dynamics of UK & Global markets and their implications on business operations.
  • Deepen understanding of Digital trading platforms and systems to optimize them for business needs.
  • Gain thorough knowledge of digital placement data and its interaction with the larger Marsh data ecosystem.
  • Build consolidated views using disparate data sources and placement data that provide valuable insights.
  • Solve complex business problems using data-driven 'Business Consultant' skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with senior leaders to develop strategic plans.
  2. Oversee a team of analysts handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  3. Mentor junior staff members to enhance their domain knowledge and business acumen.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering discipline.
  • 10-12 years of experience in Business Intelligence and reporting, including work on Enterprise-wide reporting systems.
  • 2-3 years of team management experience handling a minimum team size of 2-3 analysts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills within a corporate IT environment.
  • Ability to think independently and define KPIs aligning with business strategy and goals.

Technical Skills:

  • Data engineering and transformation skills - SQL or Oracle.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Databricks on Azure and AWS.
  • Ability to optimize data pipelines for complex data transformations.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights simply and effectively.
