Job Title: Lead DFT Engineer

Are you a seasoned technical leader with expertise in digital fault tolerance (DFT)? Do you have strong skills in strategy development, architecture implementation, and team collaboration? We are seeking a talented Lead DFT Engineer to drive the development and implementation of DFT architecture across complex SoC/ASIC designs.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in DFT for complex ASIC or SoC designs, expertise in scan insertion, compression, ATPG, MBIST, and boundary scan, as well as hands-on experience with leading DFT tools such as Synopsys: DFT Compiler, TetraMAX, TestMAX, Siemens EDA: Tessent ScanPro, MBIST, IJTAG, Cadence/others: Modus, Encounter Test.

Main Responsibilities:
  • DFT Strategy and Architecture: Develop and drive world-class DFT strategy and architecture for multiple ASIC/SoC projects, ensuring high-quality testability and manufacturability of silicon products.
  • DFT Features Implementation: Implement and verify key DFT features like scan insertion and compression, ATPG pattern generation and fault grading, MBIST and Logic BIST insertion and validation, boundary scan (IEEE 1149.1/1149.6), IJTAG (1687).
  • DFT Flow Management: Oversee end-to-end DFT flow — from RTL to gate-level netlist and silicon bring-up, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Pattern Generation and Debug: Generate patterns, simulate faults, and debug test coverage gaps.
  • DFT Signoff and Timing Closure: Own DFT signoff, timing closure (DFT-related paths), and ATE pattern delivery.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship: Collaborate effectively with RTL, STA, PD, and test engineering teams for seamless integration, mentor junior DFT engineers, conduct design reviews and training sessions.
  • DFT Automation: Develop and maintain automated DFT scripts and infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or VLSI Design.
  • At least 7 years of experience in DFT for complex ASIC or SoC designs.
  • Strong knowledge of RTL design, STA, and synthesis flows.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl) for flow automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hierarchical DFT methodologies.
  • Exposure to post-silicon validation and failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical designs and functional safety.
