Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Lead and manage the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
    • Develop and implement global procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and process efficiencies.
    • Establish policies and procedures to standardize and optimize procurement operations.
  • Supplier Management & Negotiations
    • Sources, evaluates, and develops suppliers worldwide to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable supply.
    • Negotiates complex contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with international and domestic vendors.
    • Builds and maintains strong supplier partnerships while managing performance through KPIs and regular reviews.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversees the creation, approval, and tracking of purchase orders, requisitions, and contracts.
    • Ensures alignment of purchasing activities with organizational goals, inventory requirements, and budget constraints.
    • Monitors inventory levels and collaborates with Operations and Warehouse teams to forecast future supply needs.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Ensures compliance with corporate procurement policies and international trade regulations (import/export laws, customs, tariffs).
    • Maintains accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and audit-ready documentation.
    • Prepares and presents strategic purchasing reports, cost analysis, and market insights to executive management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive procurement/purchasing experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience with international sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.

Must Haves:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with global suppliers.
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
  • Adaptability to dynamic environments and international time zones.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of international logistics, customs compliance, and global supply chain dynamics.
  • Experience in supplier risk management and business continuity planning.
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives in procurement.
