The ideal candidate for this position would have an in-depth technical knowledge of the following topics.

Key Areas of Expertise
  • Process Instrumentation: The ability to design, install and maintain process instrumentation systems is essential.
  • Flow Measurement: A solid understanding of flow measurement principles, including Venturi Tubes, Magnetic Flowmeters, Parshall Flumes, Propeller Meters, Mass Flow, etc.
  • Pressure Measurement: Knowledge of pressure measurement techniques, including Gauge, Differential, Hydrostatic, etc.
  • Level Measurement: Proficiency in level measurement methods, including Ultrasonic, Radar, Submersible, Float Switches, etc.
  • Temperature Measurement: Familiarity with temperature measurement principles, including RTD, Thermocouple, Thermowells, etc.
  • Analytical Instrumentation: Understanding of analytical instrumentation principles, including pH, Chlorine Residual, Turbidity, Streaming Current, Particle Counters, Dissolved Oxygen, ORP, BOD, etc.
System Design and Control

Detailed knowledge of PLC hardware and basic programming skills using PLC hardware from renowned manufacturers such as Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE, Siemens, Bedrock.

Familiarity with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Programming using SCADA software developed by top HMI/SCADA software developers like Wonderware, VTScada, Ignition, RSView/FactoryTalk, GE iFIX.

Understanding of control panel design and standards, including PLC Panels, RTUs, Local Control Panels, Motor Control Panels, Variable Frequency Drives, Motor Control Centers.

A strong grasp of communications and networking concepts used during project development and deployment, including Fibre optic cabling and topologies, Radio systems, Ethernet networking, Cloud storage, edge devices, machine learning, Cybersecurity technologies in control systems, Computer Hardware and Software.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of drawings packages like Visio.
  • Comfortable working with design and applications engineers and administrative staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
