Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Millwork Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing detailed mechanical millwork projects, including casework, cabinetry, and other custom woodwork.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD, as well as hands-on experience in panel optimization and production process management. They will also possess a solid working knowledge of SAP, ERP tools, and 2020 Design Software for furniture design.

In this role, you will work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop detailed and accurate mechanical millwork designs. You will create 3D models and generate 2D drawings using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

You will also conduct site visits to take measurements and gather information needed for design development. Additionally, you will prepare material and hardware selection and produce accurate bills of materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing mechanical millwork projects, including casework, cabinetry, and other custom woodwork.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop detailed and accurate mechanical millwork designs.
  • Creating 3D models and generating 2D drawings using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Conducting site visits to take measurements and gather information needed for design development.
  • Preparing material and hardware selection and producing accurate bills of materials.
  • Optimizing designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Creating production documents, including shop drawings, fabrication plans, and installation instructions.
  • Reviewing and modifying designs based on feedback from team members, clients, and quality control inspections.
  • Collaborating with the production team to address design-related issues during fabrication and installation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical millwork design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, ERP tools, and 2020 Design Software for furniture design.
