Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Formulation Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of new products and optimization of existing formulations for regulated markets worldwide.

This includes Solid and Liquid Dosage forms such as Tablets, Capsules, Solutions, Suspensions, Pellets, MUPS etc.

  • Understand project scope, define activities and timelines, and ensure timely completion.
  • Lead the execution/development of new formulations by investigating API characteristics, safety, and compatibility.
  • Develop R&D plans and experimental designs using Quality by Design (QBD) principles.
  • Plan and coordinate lab scale-up/optimization and pilot batch production while adhering to laboratory Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Review laboratory experiment notebooks and technology transfer documents.
  • Liaise with technology transfer teams and production teams for seamless technology transfer.
  • Program for optimizing existing product performance by researching API characteristics and finished products.
  • Check stability protocols, monitor stability studies, and evaluate results to advance product development.
  • Communicate with various departments for timely project completion.
  • Prepare departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manuals, and guidelines documents.
  • Monitor Instrument Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities and maintain equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure proper training of subordinates, technicians, and housekeeping personnel.
  • Maintain raw materials, finished goods, and reference listed drug (RLD) samples inventory.
  • Participate in departmental audits and ensure compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  • Formulation development experience in Solid & Liquid Oral; preferred experience in Pellets projects.
