Job Title:

Senior Quality Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Quality Specialist to join our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality management systems (QMS), aligning with customer quality agreements, and conducting periodic audits to ensure system effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in deploying and maintaining QMS, achieving customer/internal quality targets, driving corrective actions, and investigating customer complaints. You will also be responsible for monitoring key manufacturing process quality data, reviewing inspection standards, promoting quality tools, analyzing Internal Quality Control (IQC) data, and managing Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication skills, the ability to adapt to local factory dynamics, and bridge communication between HQ and overseas teams. You will also need to analyze factory quality reports, develop improvement plans, and lead/support customer audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deploy and maintain QMS (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ANSI ESD S20.20, etc.)
  2. Align with customer quality agreements, establish corresponding factory processes, and conduct periodic audits to ensure system effectiveness
  3. Participate in quality planning during New Product Introduction (NPI) at Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) factories
  1. Cross-functional Quality Collaboration & Problem-Solving
  • Achieve customer/internal quality targets (yield, customer complaints, Defective on Arrival (DOA), etc.) and drive corrective actions in EMS factories
  • Lead root cause analysis (5Why, 8D reports) and track corrective/preventive measures
  • Investigate customer complaints (returns, escalations), coordinate internal EMS factory reviews, and submit 8D reports to customers
  1. Process Quality Control & Yield Improvement
  • Monitor key manufacturing process quality data (Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, yield reports, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)/In-Circuit Test (ICT) test data) in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), assembly, testing, and packaging
  • Review inspection standards (Internal Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC)) to ensure compliance with product requirements (methods, Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) sampling)
  • Promote quality tools (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC)) in EMS factories
  1. Supplier & Incoming Material Quality Control
  • Analyze IQC data, drive supplier improvements (internal Supply Quality Engineering (SQE) for self-procured materials, customer coordination for customer-supplied parts)
  • Organize cross-functional meetings for supply chain quality issues (self-procured vs. customer-supplied materials, EMS consumables)
  • Manage RMA processes and supplier claims
  1. Customer Audits & Quality Improvement
  • Lead/support customer audits (annual, project-based), prepare documentation (quality reports, checklists), and ensure non-conformance closures
  • Analyze factory quality reports (yield, complaint rate, return rate, Defects Per Million Opportunities (DPPM)) and develop improvement plans
  1. Overseas Localized Quality Management
  • Adapt to local factory dynamics (language, time zones, cultural differences) and bridge communication between HQ and overseas teams
