DB2 Database Specialist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled DB2 database specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with DB2 databases and a strong background in database programming using SQL/PLSQL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex DB2 databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Develop and optimize stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages to improve database efficiency.
  • Analyze database schema, table spaces, temporary tables, views, indexes, sequences, partitioning, and other database concepts to identify areas for improvement.
  • Tune SQL queries to prevent performance degradation and use Explain Plan, Query Analyzer, and Optimization Tool to optimize database performance.
  • Implement database security measures, including encryption and decryption, to protect sensitive data.
  • Migrate existing databases to new versions or platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Configure, optimize, and document complex databases to ensure they meet business requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 9 years of experience working in DB2 databases.
  • Expert-level knowledge of database programming using SQL/PLSQL.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, including normalization, denormalization, schema design, table space management, temporary tables, views, indexes, sequences, partitioning, and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with Linux shell scripting and commands.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
