Mainframe DB2 Database Expert Wanted

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of a Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in database administration, with hands-on experience in managing and maintaining complex mainframe databases.

  • Knowledge of DB2 system tools, including catalog reorgs, query monitor, and versioning tools is essential.
  • Familiarity with various DB2 Utilities such as IDCAMS, COPY, RECOVER, CHECK DATA, REORG, RUNSTATS, REBUILD, LOAD/UNLOAD, DSNJU003, DSJU004, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with DB2 tools: DB2 Admin Tool, Log Analysis Tool, Object Comparison Tool, Query Monitor Tool, Automation Tool HPU, IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE for DB2 Performance Expert on z OS, etc.
  • A strong understanding of DB2 SQL, application environments, and stored procedures is required.

Additionally, the ideal candidate should have:

  • Good knowledge of DB2 subsystem setup in Sysplex distributor DDF, RRSAF, Data Sharing Group concepts, and Cross Coupling Facility.
  • Familiarity with power designer tool for designing purposes.

The successful candidate will possess a graduate degree in Engineering or a related field and preferred certifications include IBM DB2 Database Administration on Z/OS platform. Other desirable qualities include flexibility, sound technical skills, high aptitude, positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and time management skills.
