Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA Role

People Prime Worldwide seeks an experienced Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA to join our team in Prayagraj, India.

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with expertise in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) and experience working on large-scale complex database architecture with replications and DR strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and monitor high-availability (HA) and disaster-recovery (DR) strategies using Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups.
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines, including sizing, scaling, and automation of database resources.
  • Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and resource allocation.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL databases.
  • Must have experience as a Lead Admin and be a single point of contact for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities.
  • Experience in designing and architecting public cloud such as Oracle OCI or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network, and Security.
