Lead Database Administrator Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our database systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL DBA, as well as strong expertise in HA and replication solutions. They should also possess excellent troubleshooting skills and experience handling critical incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement efficient database architectures
  • Develop and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems
  • Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Manage and maintain database backups and replicas
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless database integration
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience in production environments
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and tuning
  • Proven experience with pgBackRest, Barman, pg_basebackup, pg_dump
  • Strong expertise with HA and replication solutions (Patroni, repmgr)
  • Hands-on experience with PITR, disaster recovery, and cluster rebuilds
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation
  • Solid understanding of database security and compliance best practices
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a 24x7 production support environment
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with logical replication and foreign data wrappers
  • Familiarity with cloud-managed PostgreSQL services
  • Familiarity with connection pooling and proxy tools (PgBouncer, HAProxy)
